The gaming giant Electronic Arts(EA) faces a huge data breach, hackers stole 780GB of data which includes source code, Software development kits (SDKs), and important tools. The news was confirmed by the company authority on Thursday.

The video games publisher EA said the data breach will not impact our games and our business.

“No player data was accessed, and we have no reason to believe there is any risk to player privacy,” EA said in the statement.

According to Vice’s Motherboard reports, the hackers had stolen the source codes of popular games like FIFA 21 and Battlefield and tools for Frostbite engine(a software development toolset for video game creators). The hackers have already displayed the data for sale on hacking forums, but they’ll only consider offers from the big names from the hacking community.

The hackers claim that the customers are willing to pay a massive amount of $28 million for the stolen data and also claim that they have full access to all of EA services.

This is not the first time for the gaming industry, the hacker’s stolen source code for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 in 2020.

EA published some popular video games like FIFA, Battlefield, Apex Legends, and other famous games.
